Terms and Conditions
Effective date: May 2026. STEADY LABS (PTY) LTD, trading as Kairo.

These terms govern your access to and use of the Kairo mobile
application and any related services (collectively, the "services"). By
using the services, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not
agree, please do not use the services.

acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the services, you confirm that you are at least 18
years old, or have parental or guardian consent, and that you have the
legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on
this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the
services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised
terms. We will notify you of significant changes within the app.

use of services

You agree to use the services only for lawful purposes and in compliance
with all applicable laws and regulations. You shall not:

Use the services for any fraudulent or malicious purpose.
Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the services.
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the services or related systems.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source
code of the app.

user accounts

Kairo does not require account creation to use the app. An anonymous
identifier is generated locally on your device. If account features are
introduced in future, you will be asked to provide accurate information
and maintain the confidentiality of your credentials.

subscriptions and payments

Kairo offers a 7-day free trial followed by an auto-renewable
subscription. Subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple's in-app
purchase system on iOS and Google Play Billing on Android. We never
process or store your payment information directly.

Monthly plan: $12.99 per month after the free trial.
Annual plan: $99.99 per year after the free trial.

You may cancel at any time through your Apple or Google Play account
settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing
period. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their
respective refund policies.

intellectual property

All content, features, and functionality of the services, including
text, graphics, the Kairo name, the sphere mark, and underlying
software, are owned by STEADY LABS (PTY) LTD or our licensors and are
protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not
reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content
without prior written permission.

ai-generated content

Kairo uses AI to generate personalised recommendations and responses.
This content is provided for self-development purposes only and does not
constitute medical, psychological, or professional advice. You use
AI-generated content at your own discretion.

privacy

Your use of the services is governed by our privacy policy, which
explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the
services, you consent to our data practices as described there.

third-party services

The services integrate with third-party providers including Supabase,
PostHog, RevenueCat, Anthropic, and Open-Meteo. Your use of those
services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We
do not assume responsibility for third-party conduct or content.

disclaimer of warranties

The services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties
of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to
warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or
non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the services will be
error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.

limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, STEADY LABS (PTY) LTD and its
affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special,
consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of or
inability to use the services.

indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless STEADY LABS (PTY) LTD, its
affiliates, and its personnel from any claims, losses, liabilities, or
expenses arising out of your use of the services or your violation of
these terms.

termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the services
at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe
violates these terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

governing law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the
laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising under these
terms shall be resolved in the courts of South Africa.

Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data Kairo collects, how

it's used, and what choices you have. We keep it plain and honest.

what we collect

Kairo does not require you to create an account. When you use the app,

we collect:

- An anonymous identifier generated on your device. Not linked to your

legal name, email, or any real-world identity.

- A display name you choose during onboarding. Used inside the app and

attached to your anonymous identifier in our backend so kairo can

greet you and tailor responses.

- How you use the app: features accessed, taps, session activity, screen

views, paywall events. Used to improve the product via PostHog product

analytics.

- Subscription status. Whether you have an active trial or paid plan,

managed through Apple's or Google's in-app purchase systems and

RevenueCat. We never see your payment details.

- Conversation content you share with the in-app AI assistant. Processed

to generate responses and stored linked to your anonymous identifier so

kairo remembers context across sessions. Not used to train AI models.

- Activity you self-log inside the app. Stored linked to your anonymous

identifier so kairo can build your progress over time.

opt-in data (you must explicitly enable these)

- Health data. If you connect Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect

(Android), kairo reads aggregated values for: steps, sleep, workouts,

and mindful minutes. We never write data back to your health app. We

use these signals only to inform daily recommendations and they are

sent to our recommendation backend in aggregated form (for example,

"8,000 steps today", not raw event streams).

- Coarse location for weather context. If you enable weather awareness

in calibration, kairo asks for your approximate location once per

session and queries open-meteo.com for current conditions to inform

recommendations. Your coordinates are rounded to roughly city-level

precision and are not stored.

We do not collect your email address, phone number, contacts, photos,

microphone, camera, or precise location.

how we use it

- To deliver and personalise the app experience.

- To understand how the product is used and improve it.

- To manage your subscription and restore purchases.

- To keep the app stable and secure.

who we share it with

We never sell your data. We work with a small number of trusted services

to run the app:

- Supabase: database and backend infrastructure.

- PostHog: anonymous product analytics.

- RevenueCat: subscription management.

- Anthropic: AI responses (Claude API). Conversations are processed but

not retained by Anthropic and not used for training.

- Open-Meteo: weather lookups when weather awareness is enabled.

We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety of

our users.

data retention

We retain data linked to your anonymous identifier for as long as it is

useful for improving the product or maintaining your in-app history. You

can request deletion of any data associated with your anonymous

identifier at any time by contacting us.

your choices

- You can disable health and location integrations at any time from your

device's privacy settings or from the calibration screen in kairo.

- You can request full data deletion by emailing us at the address below.

children

Kairo is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data

from children. If we become aware that we have, we will delete it promptly.

changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be

communicated within the app. Continued use of Kairo after changes

constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
